A Double Drawn wig is made by removing many of the shorter hair strands, leaving mostly strands of similar length. This gives the wig a fuller appearance from the middle to the ends, while still looking natural.
Compared to Single Drawn (SD), a DD wig is thicker and has fewer flyaways. Compared to Super Double Drawn (SDD), it may have slightly more shorter strands, so it isn’t quite as thick from top to bottom.
The important thing to remember is this:
• SD = Natural taper, lighter ends.
• DD = Fuller and thicker with fewer short strands.
• SDD = Thickest and fullest because it contains the highest proportion of long, uniform strands.
And just like SDD, DD describes the strand distribution and thickness—not the quality of the hair. A high-quality DD wig can easily outperform a poor-quality SDD wig.
